Rates

Juniper Street Tutoring recommends lessons 2x a week minimum to see measurable growth and improvement, and 3-4x a week for students with dyslexia or other specific learning disabilities. This is not a hard and fast rule, though, so recommendations on length and frequency will be provided after your evaluation. Rates are specific to the tutor, and the  range below that reflect this. Please contact us for a specific tutor's rates. Lessons with tutors that travel to your home or other location will incur a separate $5 travel fee per lesson.

Recommended only for students aged 7 and younger, or those with severe attention difficulties.

The most popular and recommended choice. The majority of our students take 45 minute lessons
3 times per week.

Recommended for students taking multi-subject sessions, or seeing us 1-2 times per week.

Best for high school, AP students, and students with dyslexia receiving Wilson Reading System instruction.

Evaluations

Evaluations are a tool that we use to get the best sense of your student's current abilities. You do not have to have one, but we do recommend it, as it provides very valuable information and informs our work with your student. Evals are not a diagnosis of any learning disability, as only a licensed psychologist can officially diagnose that. We use the evaluation to learn more about the students strengths, weaknesses, goals, responsiveness to tutoring, best approach, and what standards they are meeting for their age/grade. The length and type of evaluation is dependent upon the parent/guardian's concerns and what they desire to get out of tutoring. 

Level 1 Evaluation

$180 - $280

  • Best for students looking for general homework help/support. 

  • Mild concerns of student academic ability

  • 60-90 minute session

    • Walk through of homework and classwork ​

    • Some supplemental work to address any gaps in learning

  • Short introduction to chat about goals, meet and greet. 

  • Follow up email with my observations of student abilities, any concerns I may have, recommended length/frequency for sessions, etc.

Level 2 Evaluation

 $250 - $450

(most common)

  • Best for students that have known gaps and foundational deficits

  • Moderate concern, students that need extra support

  • 90-180 minute session (can be split into 2 sessions)

    • Custom evaluation based on concerns​ and goals

    • Targeted instruction and a dive into areas of concern, in-line with CC standards.

  •  Intake meeting about current concerns, experiences in the classroom, testing, academic history, and meet and greet. 

  • Follow up with my observations of student abilities in the areas tested, analysis of foundational gaps in understanding, outline of instruction plan for found deficits, and my recommendation for lesson length/frequency

Level 3 Evaluation

    • Custom evaluation based on concerns​ and goals in-line with CC standards. 

    • Deep dive into the affect dyslexia has on student's abilities, including more intensive screenings for phonological/phonemic awareness, comprehension, decoding, encoding, and more. 

  •  Intake meeting about current concerns, experiences in the classroom, testing, academic history, and meet and greet. 

  • Formal document with my observations of student abilities in the areas tested including placement with each CC standard; analysis of foundational gaps in understanding, deeper outline of instruction plan for found deficits, and my recommendation for lesson length/frequency. WRS placement if applicable
